Portraits
Alex paints his portraits in a manner that allows the freshness of the paint and the fluidity of his work shine through, whist fulfilling the brief of creating a good likeness. The portraits are painted from life either on location or in the Chelsea Studio. Alex will discuss the pose and ensure he has a good understanding of what is required by the sitter. He will start with a sitting and will take some reference photos so that he can build the painting up in between sessions. Each sitting will take between 2 and 3 hours and it is important for Alex that this is a comfortable experience for the subject. Generally the painting will be completed within 5 sittings.
