Born in London in 1972, Alex paints in a manner that is inspired by modern British painting, as well as the works of the late nineteen century. His works reflect his obsession with good technical painting. His brushwork is vigorous, and gestural, opting for a reduced pallet of soft hues. Alex paints his portraits in a manner that allows the freshness of the paint and the fluidity of his work shine through, whist fulfilling the brief of creating a good likeness.
Currently living in Battersea, with a studio in Chelsea, Alex mainly does commissioned work, interspersed with his long-term project of diarising his daughter's progress in paint.
